How appointment reminders work

Lumidara emails clients before each appointment automatically. See when reminders go out, how to change the timing and wording, and who gets them.

Every planUpdated

The Appointment Reminder is one of your automated campaigns, and it is switched on for every new studio. You do not need to do anything for clients to start getting reminders.

When reminders go out

By default, clients get a reminder email the day before their appointment. Reminders are sent during the daytime in your studio's time zone, between 10am and 8pm, so nobody gets an email in the middle of the night.

Reminders go to appointments that are booked or confirmed. Cancelled appointments are skipped, and each appointment only ever gets one reminder.

Change the timing or the wording

  1. Go to Campaigns and find Appointment Reminder.
  2. Click Edit message.
  3. Change Send this many days before the appointment (1 to 30), and edit the subject and message.

Use the placeholders in the editor, like {first_name} and {appointment_time}, and they are filled in for each client.

Turn reminders off

Use the switch on the campaign card. You can turn it back on at any time.

Who gets them

Every client with an email address and an upcoming appointment, unless they have turned reminder emails off in their account on your booking site.
