Connect Stripe or Square to take card payments
Connect your own Stripe or Square account so clients can pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Money goes straight to you and Lumidara takes no cut.
Card payments run through your own payment processor account, Stripe or Square. Clients pay you directly, payouts land in your bank on your processor's schedule, and Lumidara does not take a fee on any payment. Your processor's standard fees apply. Card payments are included on every plan.
You can connect one processor at a time. If you already take payments with Square, connecting that account keeps all your card sales in one place. If you have neither, Stripe is free to set up during the connection.
Connect Square
- Go to Settings, then the Payments tab.
- Under Square, click Connect with Square and sign in to your Square account.
- Approve access. You are sent back to Lumidara, and card payments are on straight away.
If your Square account has more than one location, choose the one that takes these payments under Take payments at. Charges use that location's currency.
Connect Stripe
- Go to Settings, then the Payments tab.
- Click Connect with Stripe. If you do not have a Stripe account yet, you can create one for free in the same flow.
- Fill in your business and bank details on Stripe's pages, then you are sent back to Lumidara.
When it shows Stripe connected. Card payments are on., you are ready.
If it says Stripe is reviewing your details
Stripe sometimes takes a few minutes to verify a new account. Nothing else is needed from you: card payments turn on automatically when Stripe finishes. Click Check status to refresh.
If instead it says Stripe needs a few more details, click Continue Stripe setup. A common one is an ID number Stripe asks for after the first pass.
Wallets and pay over time
Both checkouts can offer Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on your processor settings.
With Stripe, you can also offer pay over time options such as Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay. You choose which ones to accept in your Stripe payment method settings, and each has its own fee. Once one is on in Stripe, tick the option on the Payments tab to mention it on your booking site.
Switching or disconnecting
Disconnect on the Payments tab stops new card payments. Past payments stay in your processor account. To refund one of them later, reconnect the same account or refund it from your processor's dashboard. Cash payments can be refunded either way.
To switch from one processor to the other, disconnect the current one first, then connect the new one.
